TLDR Ring block anesthesia is best for comfort and acceptance in PRP hair loss treatments.
The study aimed to establish a standardized anesthetic protocol for platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections for hair loss by comparing different anesthesia methods in 60 patients. Each patient underwent four PRP sessions with different anesthesia types: topical, vibration, nerve block, and ring block. Results showed that vibration anesthesia had the highest pain levels during the procedure, while nerve block was the least acceptable due to pain from the anesthetic injection and visible bulges. Post-procedural pain was highest with vibration anesthesia and lowest with ring block, which also had the highest patient acceptance. The study concludes that improving patient comfort with effective anesthesia can enhance compliance with PRP treatments.
