Treatment of Lipomas and Diffuse Lipomatosis with Nd:YAG 1064 nm Laser and Their Impact on Quality of Life

The study discussed the treatment of lipomas and diffuse lipomatosis using the NDYAG 1064 NM laser, highlighting its impact on patients' quality of life. Lipomas are common benign tumors, and conditions like multiple familial lipomatosis and diffuse congenital lipomatosis can cause numerous, sometimes painful, lipomas. Traditional treatments like chemical lipolysis were unsatisfactory due to prolonged therapy, high costs, and high recurrence rates. Surgical options were often declined due to the need for extensive incisions. The study found that laser liposuction provided excellent results, with short recovery times, minimal pain, and no recurrence, leading to high patient satisfaction.
