TLDR Ayurvedic treatment improved symptoms and reduced TSH levels in a hypothyroidism patient.
A 30-year-old female patient with hypothyroidism, who had been experiencing a range of symptoms including weakness, dizziness, decreased sleep, head weight, dry skin, hair loss, and constipation, was treated with Ayurvedic medicine after a 1.5-month washout period from levothyroxine. The treatment consisted of 50 ml Kanchnar twak kwath with 1 gm Shunthi churna and 2 drops of Nimb tail nasya in each nostril for 15 days, with two follow-up sessions at 15-day intervals. After the Ayurvedic treatment, the patient's symptoms significantly improved, with a notable reduction in TSH levels from 18.65 to 6.92. The patient's weakness and fainting ceased, hair loss stopped, and she was able to perform her tasks without difficulty. The study suggests that the combination of these Ayurvedic treatments can be effective in managing symptoms of hypothyroidism.
