TLDR Women with nonclassic 21-hydroxylase deficiency can have successful pregnancies through IVF, with certain factors affecting their chances.
The study investigated the IVF outcomes for 25 women with nonclassic 21-hydroxylase deficiency (21-OHD) and found that polycystic ovary (PCO) type influenced the number of viable embryos in COH cycles, while dexamethasone usage and lower minimum progesterone (P4) and total testosterone (TT) levels were associated with higher pregnancy rates in ET cycles. Logistic regression analysis indicated that lower BMI and minimum P4 levels before endometrial transformation were significant predictors of pregnancy, with recommended cutoff values of 0.45 ng/ml for P4 and 23.36 kg/m² for BMI. The study concluded that nonclassic 21-OHD patients can achieve successful pregnancies through IVF, with specific cycle characteristics affecting the outcomes. However, the study was limited by its small sample size and retrospective nature, suggesting the need for future larger-scale studies.
