TLDR Helmets used in acupuncture and light therapy can affect brain blood flow, hair growth, and may improve brain diseases and cognitive functions.
The document discusses the use of helmet constructions in acupuncture research and transcranial photobiomodulation (TPBM) therapy for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. A helmet developed in 1997 helped prove that acupuncture can cause changes in brain blood circulation. The use of low-level laser therapy (LLLT) in helmet constructions has shown to promote hair growth in studies involving 44 men and 47 women with androgenic alopecia, although these studies had limitations. TPBM has shown promise in treating brain diseases like dementia, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s disease, and improving cognitive functions. However, technical parameters are not standardized and further studies are needed. In studies involving healthy subjects and patients with cognitive deficits or Parkinson's disease, TPBM therapy showed significant improvements in brainwave activity, cognitive impairment, motor skills, memory, and processing speed.
