By 10 to 14 days, the hair around the eyes had completely regrown, and the rats appeared normal. Additionally, the rats receiving inositol showed an increased average weekly weight gain of 15 grams compared to the control group's 10 grams. The study concludes that inositol is the factor responsible for hair regeneration in the spectacled eye condition in rats and also plays a role in their overall growth.
