TLDR Inositol prevents hair loss and improves health in rats.
The study investigates the effects of inositol on alopecia in rats fed a diet containing sulfasuxidine. It was found that the inclusion of sulfasuxidine in the diet led to symmetrical alopecia in the rats. However, when inositol was supplemented, it prevented the onset of alopecia. Additionally, rats receiving inositol showed better growth and a more tidy appearance, indicating the beneficial role of inositol in preventing hair loss and promoting overall health in this context.

A 30-year-old female with PCOS and male pattern baldness is frustrated with her endocrinologist's recommendation of only Spironolactone and minoxidil, feeling that dutasteride, finasteride, and progesterone would be more effective. Other users suggest various online sources for treatments, warn against self-medicating due to potential risks, and recommend seeking a specialized endocrinologist or considering additional treatments like Inositol, Berberine, and dermaneedling.
