TLDR Infrared light helped heal acid burns and improved neck movement.
The case report detailed the use of infrared (IR) therapy on an acid burn victim in Pakistan, highlighting its effectiveness in promoting cellular repair and reducing inflammation, which led to less scarring and improved mobility. The patient underwent IR therapy, massage, and stretching exercises over six months, resulting in satisfactory healing with no hypertrophic scars and improved neck movement. Despite societal skepticism in Pakistan, the study suggested that IR therapy could be a promising treatment for acid burns, though it was limited by its focus on a single patient and lack of comparative data. Further research with more participants was recommended to validate these findings and encourage acceptance of IR therapy.
