TLDR Cold temperatures reduce sprouted seed extract yield, but PSR™ technology produces extracts with more beneficial compounds than conventional methods.
The study evaluated the impact of temperature on sprouted seed growth and the composition of the resulting extracts. Two plants from the Fabaceae family were used, with the sprouted seeds either subjected to cold temperatures or not, before undergoing a conventional extraction process. The extracts were then analyzed for their phytochemical content. The study found that the extracts from seeds not subjected to cold temperatures had a higher yield. Additionally, a technology called PSR™ was used for comparison, and it was found that extracts processed by PSR™ had higher levels of phytocompounds and better antioxidant and anti-aging properties than those obtained by the conventional method. This suggests that cold temperatures impact the composition of sprouted seeds and the quality of the final extract, and that PSR™ technology may offer advantages in terms of extract composition and phytochemical properties.
