TLDR Narrowband UVB therapy significantly improved a child's rare skin condition.
A 12-year-old boy with ichthyosis linearis circumflexa, a rare skin disorder, showed significant improvement after 30 sessions of narrowband UVB phototherapy. This treatment was well-tolerated and led to a five-month remission. The study suggested that narrowband UVB phototherapy could be an effective and safe treatment option for managing ichthyosis linearis circumflexa/Netherton syndrome, especially considering the side effects of topical therapies and the inconsistent results from systemic retinoids.
