TLDR Hyperandrogenism did not affect sexual function in young women.
The study aimed to evaluate the influence of hyperandrogenism on sexual function in young women by examining a cohort of 196 female students. Participants completed various questionnaires, and terminal hair growth was assessed using the Ferriman-Gallwey scoring system. Hirsutism was diagnosed in 34 women. Laboratory data were collected from 44 randomly selected participants to measure hormone levels. The study found no significant relationship between hormone levels in hirsute females and the control group, suggesting that hyperandrogenism did not significantly impact sexual function in the sample studied.
