Synergy Between Hyaluronic Acid and Infrared Light: Preliminary Study

    N. Pascual
TLDR Infrared light, alone or with hyaluronic acid, effectively treats skin laxity with minimal side effects.
This preliminary study evaluated the effectiveness of combining hyaluronic acid (HA) treatments with infrared (IR) light technology to improve skin laxity and hydration in 25 female patients aged 37 to 68. The participants were divided into three treatment groups: IR light only, IR light with a non-crosslinked HA and calcium hydroxyapatite (HaCa) hybrid, and IR light with a crosslinked HA and HaCa hybrid. Results showed high satisfaction across all groups, with the highest satisfaction in patients under 50 receiving the third treatment and those over 50 receiving the first treatment. The study concluded that IR light, alone or combined with HA and HaCa, is effective for treating skin laxity with minimal adverse effects.
