Effect of Honeysuckle Extract for Color Protection of Human Hair Exposed to Sunlight Radiation

    TLDR Non-ionic silicone emulsion best protects hair color from sunlight.
    The study compared the color protective effects of honeysuckle extract, benzophenone-3, and non-ionic silicone emulsion on hair exposed to UV irradiation. Honeysuckle extract reduced color fading by 49.52% in dyed red hair and 19.35% in virgin black hair due to its antioxidant properties, while benzophenone-3 showed minimal effect. Non-ionic silicone emulsion provided the best color protection, maintaining 81.46% in dyed red hair and 41.94% in virgin black hair. Combining honeysuckle extract with non-ionic silicone emulsion did not enhance color protection.
