TLDR Wild boar skin from Timor Island has three layers with various structures like hair follicles and glands.
This study examined the histological structure of wild boar skin using three samples from Timor Island. The skin is composed of three layers: the epidermis, dermis, and hypodermis. The epidermis has four layers, while the dermis contains dense connective tissue with collagen and elastic fibers, primary hair follicles, sebaceous glands, arrector pili muscles, and blood vessels. The hypodermis consists of loose connective tissue with abundant fat cells, secondary hair follicles, and sudoriferous glands.
