TLDR The animal was likely a wild boar.
In a forensic investigation of a suspected poached wild boar, skin samples were analyzed to confirm the animal's identity. Histological examination focused on the arrangement of hair follicles in horizontal skin sections. Both domestic and suspected wild boar samples showed a linear arrangement of hair follicles with three primary follicles in a row. Despite the similarity in follicle arrangement, circumstantial evidence suggested that the animal was likely a wild boar.
