TLDR High-dose radioactive iodine therapy does not harm fertility in thyroidectomy patients.
A study on male patients who received 150 mCi of radioactive iodine therapy (RIT) after thyroidectomy found no impairment in fertility. However, the authors emphasize the need for long-term follow-up studies with larger sample sizes to better understand the physiological roles of gonadal hormones, sperm DNA fragmentation, and anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) in the testes following RIT.
