Herbal Shampoo Innovation: Purwaceng Extract as the Main Active Ingredient

The article discusses the innovation of a herbal shampoo using Purwaceng extract, an indigenous Indonesian herb known for its antioxidant properties, including flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, and tannins. These compounds are potentially effective in preventing dandruff, stimulating hair growth, maintaining scalp health, and addressing hair loss. The study involved formulating three sample preparations (F0, F1, and F2) and conducting stability testing. The results showed that the shampoo with the appropriate formula, particularly Sample F1, exhibited good stability and safety for hair use. The study aims to inform about the stability and safety of Purwaceng extract as a shampoo ingredient and encourages further development of innovative shampoo products using this extract.
