TLDR The herbal shampoo effectively cleans hair and scalp while being environmentally friendly.
The study developed and evaluated a novel herbal shampoo using traditional medicinal plants as a natural alternative to synthetic shampoos, which can cause scalp irritation and hair issues. The herbal formulation included ingredients like bhringraj, soap nut, and aloe vera, and was assessed for various properties such as pH, solid content, cleansing ability, and foaming stability. The results showed that the shampoo had a mildly acidic pH of 6.5, a light formulation with 1% solid content, quick cleansing action with a wetting time of three seconds, and moderate foam stability. Surface tension measurements indicated strong surfactant activity similar to synthetic shampoos. The study concluded that the herbal shampoo offers effective cleansing, good surface activity, and environmental safety, supporting the demand for natural and sustainable personal care products.
