The study evaluated various combinations of powdered leaves and hair care plants, such as Henna, Indigo, Bhringraj, Amla, Shikakai, Gulvel, Brahmi, Jatamansi, and Shatavari, for their effectiveness as natural hair colorants. The research aimed to develop a herbal hair dye that provides a reddish-brown color similar to natural hair, with better coloring effects and retention compared to marketed herbal hair dyes. Unlike commercial synthetic dyes, which often contain 20-25% para-phenylenediamine and can cause allergic reactions, the Ayurvedic powder hair dye formulated in this study did not include any synthetic agents and was assessed for its coloring efficiency.
