TLDR Orthorexia nervosa is not common among people.
The article analyzed the results of a sociological survey using the Bratman Orthorexia Test (BOT) and the ORTO-15 test to study the impact of healthy eating on health preservation and its potential to lead to orthorexia nervosa (ON), an eating disorder characterized by an obsession with "extreme dietary purity." It included a review of contemporary literature on eating disorders and compared domestic and international research on eating behaviors. The study aimed to distinguish between healthy eating and pathologically healthy eating, concluding that orthorexia nervosa and related eating behaviors were not widespread among the population. The findings were relevant for psychiatrists, medical rehabilitators, clinical psychologists, and readers interested in the topic.
