TLDR Repeated left stellate ganglion blocks may improve skin elasticity, water content, and hair follicle density on the treated side.
The case report examined a patient who underwent over 450 sessions of left stellate ganglion block (SGB) over 6 years to alleviate left-sided facial pain from trauma. The study found differences in dermatological measurements between the left and right sides of the patient's face, specifically in skin elasticity, water content, and hair follicle density. The findings suggested that repeated SGBs might enhance skin elasticity, increase water content, and boost hair follicle density on the scalp, providing valuable insights for pain clinicians.
