Halocnemum Strobilaceum (Pall.) M.Bieb.: A Review of Its Botany, Phytochemistry, Pharmacology and Ethnobotany

Halocnemum strobilaceum, a halophyte from the Amaranthaceae family, was traditionally used to treat various ailments, including hair loss. The plant's extracts were found to be rich in compounds such as anthocyanins, saponins, and flavonoids, which contributed to its anticancer, antimicrobial, and antioxidant properties. Additionally, it showed potential as an insecticide and was used in aquaculture and food preservation. The review suggested that H. strobilaceum's diverse bioactivities warranted further experimental and clinical research.
