The study introduced "HairMeasure" and "Scalp Zone Identifier" as cost-effective devices for measuring Hair Mass Index (HMI) and identifying scalp zones without the need for disposable materials. The "HairMeasure" device, made from a thin metal sheet and mounted on a vernier caliper, measured the cross-sectional area of hair bundles. The "Scalp Zone Identifier" helped isolate and consistently locate the same scalp area for repeated measurements. These devices aimed to provide an economical alternative to the existing HairCheck device, facilitating early detection of hair miniaturization, growth, and breakage.
