Hair transplant - initial experience with semiautomated extraction and preservation in follicular unit extraction

    K. Yanev, Evgeni Sharkov, Eleonora Hristova-Atanasova, Aleksander Timev
The study evaluates a new vacuum-automated FUE device for hair transplantation, which allows for sterile storage of follicles in optimal conditions. Conducted over two years with 60 patients (57 males, 3 females), the study compared vacuum-assisted extraction (26.7%) with forceps extraction (73.3%). Results showed a significant difference in graft numbers transplanted and factors like age, technique, and donor area. Younger patients required fewer grafts and had better outcomes. The device enables over a thousand grafts in one day, is minimally invasive, and enhances follicle viability, leading to improved cosmetic results.
