TLDR FUE hair transplantation using a micromotor is effective and gives natural results with few complications.
Between 2005 and 2014, 1,000 patients underwent Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) hair transplantation, with 968 using a micromotor. The micromotor allowed for an average of 2,500 grafts per session within 6-8 hours. Graft harvesting was classified as difficult in 11.1% of cases, easy in 52.2%, and very easy in 36.7%. The study highlighted the advantages of FUE, such as avoiding sutures and scars, and achieving a natural appearance with less morbidity. The use of sharp-pointed punches and tumescent liquid was beneficial in reducing complications like inclusion cysts and bleeding. Dense hair transplantation in smaller areas was recommended for a more natural outcome. The study concluded that FUE is an effective and satisfactory method for hair transplantation.
