TLDR Hair transplants are mostly safe but can have minor complications.
Hair transplant surgery is generally safe with minimal complications, but risks still exist. A study of 2896 patients over 10 years identified common complications such as sterile folliculitis (203 cases), facial edema (18 cases), and minor necrotic patches (3 cases). Serious complications were rare, with no life-threatening issues reported. Proper patient counselling, thorough medical history, and careful examination are crucial to minimizing these risks.
