TLDR Platelet-rich plasma treatment can effectively promote hair regrowth in men with androgenetic alopecia without major side effects.
The study evaluated the use of autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) in promoting hair regrowth in men with androgenetic alopecia. Thirty men were enrolled in the study, and PRP was injected into their scalps. The results showed that PRP caused an increase in hair shaft thickness and the number of hairs per follicular unit. The most responsive area was the frontal region. The overall assessment score by the evaluator was positive, and the patients reported a subjective improvement. The study concluded that PRP can be an effective treatment for androgenetic alopecia with no major side effects.
