Hair Reduction: 48 Months of Experience with 800nm Diode Laser

The retrospective study, conducted over a period of 48 months, included 242 patients who underwent hair reduction treatments using an 800nm diode laser. On average, patients received 1.97 treatments, which led to a significant reduction in pigmented hair for an average duration of 8.1 months. The frequency of hair plucking increased from every 3.69 days to every 15.19 days post-treatment. The majority of patients, 81.4%, tolerated the procedure without local anesthetics, and 82.55% were satisfied with the results. The study found the 800-nm diode laser to be a safe and effective method for hair reduction, with minimal side effects, as only 1.23% of patients experienced post-treatment folliculitis, which resolved within two weeks.
