TLDR Carrot extract in gel form may help hair grow better.
The study examined the effects of a petroleum ether extract of Daucus carota (carrot) in a gel form on hair growth in albino rats. Results showed that the extract induced an earlier anagen phase and extended the duration of this phase more effectively than the control group and a group treated with 1% minoxidil. Additionally, the extract increased the number and size of hair follicles and prompted an earlier expression of ß-catenin in hair follicles. The study concluded that Daucus carota extract has potential as a hair growth-promoting agent, suggesting a new avenue for alopecia treatment, although the precise mechanisms require further investigation.
