TLDR Injecting α-MSH made mice's hair turn black.
The study investigated the effect of α-MSH injections on hair color in mice of the black agouti C3H XAF1 hybrid cross. Mice were injected with 5 X 10^5 U α-MSH twice daily, and it was observed that hair regrowing in shaved and plucked areas during the injection period turned black. The findings were significant in understanding the role of α-MSH in hair darkening and its potential relationship with a circulating agent in animals with a transplantable pituitary tumor.
