TLDR Hyaluronic acid filler injections can quickly and effectively treat canine entropion for 6-8 months without surgery.
In a study from March 2021, two dogs, a 3-year-old Old English Bulldog and a 5-month-old Chow Chow, diagnosed with entropion were treated with hyaluronic acid (HA) filler injections as an alternative to surgery. The layered feathering technique was used to administer the HA, which proved to be effective in correcting the entropion. The results showed that the eyelid positions were successfully maintained for 6-8 months post-procedure. This suggests that HA filler injections can provide a quick and effective, albeit temporary, relief for canine entropion.
