TLDR Guduchi and Yashtimadhu can reduce chemotherapy side effects.
The study evaluated Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia) and Yashtimadhu (Glycyrrhiza glabra) as adjuvant therapies in 56 cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, with 38 completing the trial. Patients were divided into four groups, including a control group and groups receiving Guduchi, Yashtimadhu, or both. The combination of Guduchi and Yashtimadhu significantly reduced chemotherapy side effects such as nausea, vomiting, mucositis, fatigue, and more, with improvements ranging from 48.8% to 96.78%. Alopecia showed moderate improvement in 58.8% of patients receiving both herbs. The study concluded that these herbal treatments could enhance the quality of life for cancer patients by mitigating chemotherapy's adverse effects and improving general health parameters without side effects.
