TLDR The Greek DCQ is a reliable and valid tool for assessing dysmorphic concern.
The study translated and validated the Dysmorphic Concern Questionnaire (DCQ) for the Greek population, involving 88 participants, including 32 with Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD). The Greek DCQ showed high internal consistency (Cronbach’s alpha of 0.933) and strong correlations with other psychological scales, confirming its reliability and validity for identifying dysmorphic concern. This tool was deemed useful for early detection and treatment of BDD, particularly in clinical and research settings related to dermatology and aesthetic surgery. However, the study acknowledged limitations such as the absence of test-retest reliability assessment and a small sample size.
