TLDR Food deprivation increases MST enzyme in the brain, possibly affecting energy balance.
This study found that food deprivation leads to an increase in the expression of the enzyme MST in the hypothalamus of rats and mice, as well as in genetically obese rodents. The study suggests that MST may be involved in the hypothalamic control of energy homeostasis.
