TLDR Finasteride with antibiotics is more effective for treating hemospermia than antibiotics alone.
The study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of Finasteride in treating inflammatory hemospermia. It involved 56 participants divided into two groups: an experimental group of 30 treated with Finasteride and antibiotics, and a control group of 26 treated with only antibiotics. After one month, hemospermia disappeared in 93.3% of the experimental group compared to 57.7% of the control group, indicating a significant difference. The study concluded that Finasteride combined with antibiotics was more effective in treating hemospermia, potentially due to its ability to reduce VEGF synthesis and inhibit microvascular formation.
