TLDR The FN3-Alg hydrogel effectively heals irregular wounds and promotes hair growth.
The study presents an innovative injectable fibronectin3-alginate (FN3-Alg) hydrogel designed for irregular wound repair, utilizing a dynamic dissolution equilibrium of Ca2+ for physical crosslinking. This hydrogel demonstrates excellent self-healing properties, high biocompatibility, and a lower blood clotting index compared to gauze. It effectively accelerates wound healing and promotes hair follicle regeneration, making it ideal for irregular wounds. The FN3-Alg hydrogel's favorable biocompatibility was confirmed through in vitro hemolysis and L-929 cell co-culture experiments, and its efficacy in wound healing was validated in animal experiments. This study highlights the potential of FN3-Alg hydrogel as a promising wound dressing for clinical applications.
