Fever And Rash As Initial Signs Of Systemic Autoimmune Disease: Case Report

Diana Matilde Tipán Quishpe, Ricardo Bedón-Galarza
A 15-year-old female presented with fever and skin rash separately over 1 month, which were initial signs of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Additional symptoms included weight loss, asthenia, and hair loss. The diagnosis of SLE was confirmed through exclusion of other pathologies, timely examinations, and the patient responded well to immunosuppressive treatment. The case highlights the diagnostic challenge of differentiating between fever due to an active infection and fever secondary to SLE activity.
