TLDR Fernblock® helps protect skin cells from pollution and stress, reducing inflammation and damage.
The study reported that Fernblock®, a natural extract from Polypodium leucotomos, upregulated the NRF2 antioxidant pathway, providing protection to keratinocytes from xenotoxic stress induced by PM2.5 pollutants. This upregulation was associated with reduced inflammation, melanogenesis, and cell damage in cultured keratinocytes. The findings suggested that Fernblock® could offer a molecular mechanism for protection against environmental pollutants and oxidative stress, potentially mitigating damage-induced aging.
