TLDR Adding 1 mg/ml of graphene oxide to egg white protein wound dressings improves antibacterial properties and supports skin repair.
The study developed a novel wound dressing by combining egg white proteins (EWPs) with polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and graphene oxide (GO) using electrospinning. The addition of GO significantly improved the physicochemical properties, antibacterial activity, and cell compatibility of the dressings. Various concentrations of GO (0, 0.5, 1, and 2 mg/ml) were tested, and the optimal concentration was identified to enhance wound healing. This innovative composite material shows promise for clinical applications in wound care.
