Evaluation of the Role of Topical Cetirizine 1% in the Treatment of Male Androgenetic Alopecia

    The study evaluated the efficacy of topical cetirizine 1% in treating male androgenetic alopecia (AGA). It included 30 male patients treated with cetirizine and 30 male patients treated with a placebo over 6 months. Trichoscopic evaluations were conducted before and after treatment. Results showed that 56.7% of the cetirizine group had no new hair growth, while 20.0%, 16.7%, and 6.7% had one, two, and three new hairs, respectively. In contrast, the control group had no new hair growth. The study concluded that topical cetirizine is effective in treating AGA in men.
