TLDR Low-level laser therapy combined with NB-UVB is a safe and potentially effective treatment for stable vitiligo.
The study "Evaluation of the Effect of Low Level Laser Therapy in the Treatment of Stable Vitiligo" involved 20 patients with stable vitiligo. The patients were treated with low-level laser therapy (LLLT) and NB-UVB twice weekly for 3 months. The results showed significant improvement in re-pigmentation: 25% of patients showed excellent improvement, 40% showed good improvement, 20% showed moderate improvement, 10% showed poor improvement, and 5% showed no improvement. The side effects were minimal and transient. The study concluded that LLLT in combination with NB-UVB therapy could be considered a safe and tolerable technique for the treatment of vitiligo, although longer follow-up is needed.
