TLDR Ahmad's NPRT system accurately documents and predicts male pattern baldness.
The study assessed the effectiveness of Ahmad's NPRT system in documenting male pattern baldness in 500 male patients. The NPRT system, which expands on the Norwood Scale by including Temporal Peaks/Points, Reverse Thinning, and Overall Thinning, was used to classify the patients' hair loss, each category graded from 0 to 3. The average age of the participants was 29.3 years, and the most common type of baldness identified was Type IV, observed in 29% of the patients. The study found that the NPRT system was useful for accurately determining the current state of hair loss and for predicting future hair loss, which is beneficial for planning treatment strategies.
