TLDR Eurycoma longifolia extract may help increase testosterone levels and reduce andropause symptoms.
Eurycoma longifolia extract (ELE) has been shown to counteract oxidative stress-induced reductions in testosterone levels in TM3 Leydig cells by enhancing the expressions of steroidogenic enzymes (StAR, 3β-HSD, and CYP17A1) involved in testosterone synthesis and reducing the expressions of enzymes (5α-reductase and aromatase) that convert testosterone to other hormones. This suggests that ELE could be beneficial in alleviating andropause symptoms associated with low testosterone levels.
