TLDR Eclipta alba shows promise for treating various health issues and needs more research.
Eclipta alba, a traditional medicinal plant, has been extensively studied for its ethnomedicinal applications, phytochemistry, pharmacology, and toxicity. The plant contains natural products like coumestans, terpenoids, alkaloids, volatile oils, flavonoids, and thiopenes, with coumestans being the most frequently used. It has shown potential pharmacological effects in wound healing, diabetes, obesity, antioxidants, cancer, hair growth, and neuroprotection. Future research should focus on detailed mechanism-based studies using clinical trials and animal models.
