Effect of Ethanolic Extract from Wheat Sprout on Hair Growth of C57BL/6 Mouse

The study evaluated the effects of natural antioxidants from wheat sprout extract on hair growth in female C57BL/6 mice. The research used hydrophobic layers of wheat sprout extract (fr. 5 and fr. 8) and compared them to minoxidil (3%) as a positive control. After 4 weeks of application, wheat sprout extract (fr. 5) showed similar hair growth to minoxidil, while wheat sprout extract (fr. 8) was less effective. Histological analysis revealed that wheat sprout extract (fr. 5) increased the number of hair follicles and reduced mast cell size. The findings suggested that wheat sprout extract could be a potential ingredient in hair growth products.
