TLDR Erbium YAG laser treatment, combined with conventional therapy, can effectively reduce hair loss and promote hair growth in men with androgenetic alopecia.
The research conducted by Fatima V. Azimova, Rustam R. Zakirov, and Iroda B. Nurmatova involved 85 men with androgenetic alopecia (AA). They underwent a 3-month treatment using a 2940 nm wavelength erbium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet (Er:YAG) laser along with conventional therapy. The results indicated a significant reduction in microfibrosis around the hair follicles and an increase in hair growth in the anagen stage, demonstrating the high effectiveness of the treatment. The study concluded that Er:YAG laser treatment could be a potent method for treating AA.
