TLDR Elephantopus scaber has potential medicinal benefits, including anticancer properties.
Elephantopus scaber was traditionally used by various ethnic groups in Indonesia and other countries for treating wounds, nephritis, edema, chest pain, fever, scabies, sores, coughs, and more. The plant exhibited bioactivities such as anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anticancer, hepatoprotective, hair growth stimulation, anti-diabetes, anti-wound, antioxidant, and kidney disorder treatment. Deoxyelephantopin, a sesquiterpene lactone from E. scaber, showed potential in anticancer development. The study suggested further investigation into E. scaber tea as an anticancer treatment due to its abundance in Indonesia.
