    Marina Silalahi
TLDR Elephantopus scaber has potential medicinal benefits, including anticancer properties.
Elephantopus scaber was traditionally used by various ethnic groups in Indonesia and other countries for treating wounds, nephritis, edema, chest pain, fever, scabies, sores, coughs, and asthma. Its bioactivity included anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anticancer, hepatoprotective, hair growth stimulation, anti-diabetes, anti-wound, antioxidant, and kidney disorder treatments. Deoxyelephantopin, a sesquiterpene lactone from E. scaber, showed potential in anticancer development. The plant's use as a tea, particularly in China, for its medicinal properties, especially as an anticancer agent, required further investigation due to its abundance in Indonesia.
