TLDR The polyherbal ointment significantly promotes hair growth.
The study aimed to formulate and evaluate the hair growth-promoting activity of a polyherbal ointment using extracts from Emblica officinalis, Centella asiatica, Aloe vera, Ocimum sanctum, and Eclipta alba. These extracts were combined in various ratios in a hydrophilic USP base to determine the most effective formulation. The ointment was applied topically to the shaved skin of rats, and results showed significant hair growth in terms of hair length, hair density, and total protein estimation compared to the use of single extracts from the individual plants.
