TLDR Combining PRP therapy with minoxidil is the most effective treatment for hair loss in men.
This study compared the efficacy of PRP therapy, minoxidil, and their combination in treating 69 men with androgenetic alopecia (AGA). Results showed that PRP therapy was more effective than minoxidil alone (p = 0.005), and the combination therapy significantly outperformed both minoxidil (p < 0.0001) and PRP monotherapy (p = 0.007). PRP application increased the expression of β-catenin, CD34, and the Ki67+ index, indicating enhanced hair follicle cell proliferation. The study concludes that PRP is a viable treatment for AGA, and combining it with minoxidil can further improve treatment outcomes.
