TLDR PRP is effective in treating male pattern baldness.
The study investigated the efficacy of platelet rich plasma (PRP) in treating androgenetic alopecia in 30 male patients aged 15-50 years. The majority of participants were in the 26-30 (36.7%) and 21-25 (33.3%) age groups, with most classified between class 2 to 5 on the Hamilton Norwood scale. A significant number (63.3%) had a positive family history of alopecia. Clinical improvements in hair count, thickness, and density were observed in 20 patients (66.7%) after 2-3 PRP sessions, with statistically significant results (p-0.00). The study concluded that PRP is effective in treating androgenetic alopecia.
PRP injections did not significantly improve hair growth in men with androgenetic alopecia.
